1-1 sessions and tailored activity programmes

We operate these breaks every week - 52 weeks a year.
Friday - Monday - more intense learning and activities.
Monday -Thursday- Less talking, more activities and out and about.
We take late bookings ! Many of our clients book 1-7 days in advance of their arrival.
Stay at our 200 year old garden cottage.
Heal at our riverside property.

Which facilities we use for the activities and talks depends on the number of attendees and the time of year. This will include: The Riverside, Laurel Cottages and The Riverside Centre.
Our aim is to send you skipping home and feeling transformed. Expect to return home with a treasure chest of new knowledge and experiences.

We use Art and assertiveness therapy for making sense out of all the things going on in your mind. Think plasticine, crayoning and spiritual tattoos ( mostly for those that have not picked up a brush since childhood !)

Subject to the weather, you have the option to: bathe, splash, mud walk and sit around a camp fire in and around the: sea, river and estuary.
Please note this retreat is not based
around Hatha yoga exercise. However, we will give you guidance on meditation, breathwork and a variety of yoga disciplines that will help you when you return home.
At the retreat, we focus on:
Bhakti yoga and Pancha bhutas ( being within nature ) and a blend of Buddhism / Hindu teachings. These help us understand who we are and our purpose.

The retreat is not suitable for anyone who cannot abstain from alcohol or recreational drugs for the duration of the retreat. Drugs and alcohol must not be brought onto the premise.

Clients do not have access to the kitchen during their stay and breakfast and dinner is provided.
KOMOREBI
Komorebi healing is a combination of mental health talks and activities combined with predominantly Buddhist and spiritual Hindu teachings. It is not a religion. It is about finding your light from the darkness..
We will demonstrate what we thinks works. Try and be open-minded. Don't follow our advice verbatim; use what works for you and leave behind what does not. We recommend you bring a diary and take notes and build your faith gradually !

Mental health is a wide and diverse subject. Everyone has their own unique story and experiences. These retreats are specifically designed for a small amount of people. This makes them intimate and potentially supportive and validating.
In the vast majority of cases this works very well and makes the retreats special. However, some people may be very anxious. They may find it difficult to engage with a small group empathetically in a supportive group healing environment.
If this is the case with you, it may be better if you book our exclusive 1-1 retreats.
The normal retreats run every week, the average number of people in the group is 2/3. Please note - many of our clients also book very late ( 1-7 days before arrival. )
We know some of our clients are vulnerable. In view of this, we do everything that we can to make you feel safe... it is at the forefront of all our policies.
Please note - occasionally you might be the only one on the retreat with our principal male teacher. You must consider if you are happy with this before booking. We know the 1-1 operates very safely and effectively.
This is because as well as safety, you receive 100 percent attention with the instructor and a retreat totally geared to your specific needs.

As this is a very small retreat, in a 200 year old venue, before booking you must inform us of any disabilities. This will help us conduct a risk assessment and inform you of any facilities and activities that may not be suitable. Please note - We do not have additional staff to assist clients who cannot supervise themselves on or off the premises and or during certain onsite and offsite activities. However, there is an option to book an exclusive 1-1 retreat with a couples room or separate rooms for client and carers. The offsite accommodation is not suitable for people with disabilities as we cannot conduct a risk assessment.
